Testing & Commissioning

Client: Vineyard Wind/Linxon/HMV

Location: Barnstable, MA

Project: Vineyard Wind 1 Onshore Substation

Provided technical inspections and comprehensive testing and commissioning services for the Vineyard Wind 1 Onshore 220/115 KV substation to include power transformers, SF6 power circuit breakers, disconnect switches, switchyard bus, MV cables, surge arresters, and auxiliary systems per NETA Standards. The Substation built for the Vineyard Wind offshore wind development company and located in Barnstable, Massachusetts will connect clean, renewable energy, to the ISO New England Power Grid from the first commercial-scale offshore wind energy project in the United States.

Utility Substation Project

Client: USAID/Perini/Electricité d'Haiti

Location: Port-au-Prince, Haiti

Project: Rehabilitation Project of five Substations

PG&D performed engineering, design, field support, testing and commissioning services for a project of the United States Government through the Agency for International Development (USAID) and Perini Management Services (PMSI). This project encompassed the rehabilitation and upgrade of five (5) Electricité d’Haiti (EDH) 115/69/12.47 kV distributing substations, Toussaint Brave, Canape-Vert, Carrefour Feuilles, Croix-des-Bouquets and Nouveau Delmas substations for the Port-au-Prince metropolitan power grid. The electrical substation rehabilitation project aimed to improve the physical infrastructure needed to reduce losses and enhance efficiencies of the EDH electrical distribution system, ultimately increasing the availability of electricity to serve customers in the metropolitan area.

Backup Generators Project

Client: WINN - DIXIE Stores, Inc.

Location: 47 grocery stores in South Florida

Project: Standby and Emergency Power Generators Design

PG&D provided engineering, detailed design, construction permits and field support for the installation of 47 standby and emergency power generators from Key West to Vero Beach, ranging in size from 500 KW to 750 KW to enable large grocery stores, over 40,000 sq-ft area, to remain fully operational in the event of a natural disaster or power outage. The new diesel-powered generators are capable of running an entire store, including coolers and freezers. This was part of a multi-year power backup generation program implemented by the client.

Substation Design

Client: Inovateus Solar / Southern States

Location: Rincon, Georgia

Project: RINCON SOLAR PARK I SUBSTATION

PG&D provided engineering and design services for the construction and installation of a 230 KV–34.5 KV utility interface step-up power substation for a 22 MW Rincon I Solar Park (PV) project. Acted as the Engineer-of-Record, performed power system studies, specified equipment, and prepared detailed construction drawings to include civil and structural designs for a State-of-the-Art interconnecting substation to interface with Georgia Power utility grid. Provided construction supervision and QA/QC services.

Industrial Power System Design

Client: Allied New Technologies

Location: Fort Pierce, Florida

Project: 23 kV-480V Electrical Power Distribution System Design

PG&D provided comprehensive engineering, detailed design, major equipment specifications, permitting support, electric utility interface and field engineering services related to the installation of high and low voltage electrical power distribution equipment and controls at the new sodium hypochlorite-bleach chemical plant. Field services included construction supervision, testing, commissioning and start-up of a 25 kV double ended switchgear with automatic transfer operation, harmonic filters, plant wide 23 kV-480 volts electrical power distribution system, motors, motor controls and electrolyzer systems and controls. Actes as the Engineer-of-record.

Testing & Commissioning

Client: COOPER Power Systems/Bechtel

Location: Santiago, Chile

Project: Los Bronces Copper Mine Expansion - Harmonic Filters & Detuning Capacitor Banks.

PG&D provided technical inspection, field construction supervision, testing, commissioning and operational training for the installation of four substations sites to include: Las Tortolas, Santa Filomena and Confluencia substations with voltages up to 45 kV and associated switching and control equipment at the Los Bronces copper mine. Testing and commissioning included capacitor bank protection relays, power wiring, interconnection control wiring, and equipment grounding check up.

Industrial Testing & Maintenance

Client: MOTOROLA Inc.

Location: Plantation, Florida

Project: 23 kV Power Distribution System and Equipment Testing & Maintenance.

PG&D performed a plant wide 5-year preventive maintenance and testing of the electrical power distribution system to include the main 23 kV double-ended automatic transfer switchgear and eight distribution substations for the 1 million sq-ft telecommunications R&D facility. Testing services included a comprehensive electrical and mechanical assessment of equipment and components such as power transformers, medium voltage breakers, power cables, automatic transfer switches and medium voltage line disconnects.
